A mole removal is a simple procedure that involves numbing the site with an anesthetic making sure the patient does not feel anything and a scalpel is used to excise the mole. Often times but not always, sutures are not needed for this procedure and a topical antibiotic ointment is applied making sure the excision site does not become infected.
